1/3 cup oil (or olive oil)
1 small onion, chopped
1 package spinach
1 clove garlic
1/2 cup rice
1 (8 oz) can tomato sauce
1/2 cup water (or more, as needed)
Salt and pepper, to taste
Wash the spinach, cut it a little bit, and set it aside.
Sauté the onion in the oil until golden.
Add a layer of spinach to the pan and sprinkle 1/3 of the rice on top.
Make two more layers of spinach and rice in the same manner.
Add the tomato sauce and water to the pan, and season with salt and pepper to taste.
Stir the mixture slightly with a fork to combine.
Cover and cook over low heat for 45 minutes.
